Boarding

Triboro Animal Hospital offers boarding for dogs, cats and exotic pets. Boarding reservations are necessary as both our cat and dog boarding kennels fill up quickly, especially during holiday seasons.

Our boarding guests, as well as our hospital patients, are closely monitored and supervised by technicians and animal attendants. If a problem arises, you have the peace of mind of knowing that, in contrast to most boarding facilities, our veterinarian is always available.

Rain, sunshine, sleet or snow, our kennel attendants walk each dog individually. Our boarding kennel differs from other city facilities by having outdoor runs, so that dogs can get daily exercise and fresh air.

Our boarding facility has the the same hours of operation as the hospital. We are open Monday through Friday from 8AM until 8PM. On Saturday, we are open from 9AM until 4PM. We strongly recommend that you arrive at least a half hour before closing time. There are no admissions or discharges on Sunday.

For the benefit of your pet, as well as the health of other pets, all boarding guests must be up-to-date on vaccinations prior to being admitted into our facility. Our canine guests are required to be up-to-date on their Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus, Coronavirus, Canine Influenza and Bordatella vaccinations. Our feline guests are required to be current on Rabies, Distemper, Respiratory Disease Complex and Leukemia vaccinations. Feline guests must also have proof of having been tested negative for Feline Leukemia Virus.

If vaccines have not been administered at TriboroAnimal Hospital, you must provide acceptable proof of current vaccination status. Any vaccinations that are due at the time of boarding must be administered by us at admission. This policy is for the safety of all our guests and there are no exceptions.

Check In Procedure

At check-in, a staff member will ask you for an emergency phone number and contact person, feeding instructions, health concerns, medication instructions and grooming options. This will ensure that your pet gets the proper care and attention required during his/her stay. We feed our boarding guests Hills and Eukanuba premium foods; however, if you prefer your own personal pet food, please provide it in a waterproof plastic container and label it with your pet's name.

Illness or Emergency

Should a pet need medical assistance, every effort will be made to contact a family member in order to discuss the options. If immediate attention is needed, one of our veterinarians will begin treatment and discuss follow up care by telephone or at check out time. Please inform us if your pet has allergies or any medical conditions. If a guest requires medication, it will be administered by our boarding staff for a nominal fee.

Personal Items

If you bring any personal items, we may write your family name on the items with permanent ink. We are not responsible for loss or damage to any personal items.
